Pleasant Mountain Stitchery is a sewing facility dedicated to consistently providing high customer satisfaction by rendering excellent service, quality merchandise, and furnishing a fun, enjoyable and educational atmosphere at an acceptable price. We will maintain a friendly creative work environment which respects diversity, ideas, and hard work.
The timing is right for starting this new venture. Having the ability to sew today has taken on a different perspective. In the early years one learned to sew out of economic necessity, mostly for providing clothing for our families and blankets for warmth. The scope of one’s purpose for sewing has expanded to artistic expression, to create valued heirlooms, and the social experience.
Penny Grubb, owner, has been an accomplished seamstress for more than 35 years. She has developed her knowledge and expertise as a seamstress to include designing and making wedding dresses, men’s suits, quilts, and home décor. Upon graduating from The Ohio State University with a degree in Home Economics education she has taught at the secondary level in Lancaster City Schools for 11 years. She has earned the respect of her colleagues through hard work, organization and dedication. Employed as a department manager in a local retail store for 6 years as well as office manager for her husband’s former business gives her foresight into this venture. Her strong, supportive and multi-talented family includes a creative and artistically gifted daughter Katie with a B.A. in Business, a highly energized daughter Abbey with a B.A. in Organizational Communication and multi-gifted husband to include technological, sales, and entrepreneurial skills. With this background and from business colleagues, to friends surveyed, Penny and her family have what it takes to make this venture extremely successful. They will count their reputation to exceed expectations while continuously establishing an active customer base.
